How to replace your gasket and filter:

Changing the seal on your coffee maker is a quick and simple process that you can do at home in just a few minutes:

1. Remove the old parts: Using the tip of a spoon or a dull butter knife, gently pry the old silicone gasket out from the underside of your Moka pot's top chamber. Once the seal is loose, the old metal filter plate will simply drop out.
2. Clean the chamber: Take this opportunity to thoroughly wash and dry the upper chamber, ensuring no old coffee residue is left in the threads or around the central column.
3. Insert the new filter: Place the new stainless steel filter plate into the bottom of the top chamber. Make sure the slightly raised, bumpy center is pointing downwards (facing the water boiler).
4. Lock it in: Press the new silicone gasket firmly into the groove over the filter plate. Run your finger around the edge to ensure it sits completely flat and snug to create a perfect seal.

When is it time for a replacement?

To maintain the quality of your coffee, we recommend inspecting your silicone gasket regularly. It is time to replace it when the seal begins to feel hard, brittle, or cracked. You should also replace the gasket immediately if you notice steam or water leaking from the middle screw joint of your pot during the brewing process.
